Arauna Superette

Over twenty years ago, the day just before I was to leave home to go
do my National Service, my Dad asked me to take the blue VW Beetle
down to the Cafe and buy him a packet of Lucky Strike cigarettes.

I bought the cigarettes and got back in the car and it would not
start. The starter motor was turning but the engine did not want to
catch.

All of a sudden there was a massive explosion as the back of the car
caught alight.

The petrol pipe had come loose and there was a stream of petrol in the
road and all over the engine before it caught and blew up.

I was lucky to get out quicky and the Cafe owner rushed out with his
red extinguisher and sprayed all the flames.

I went there again today and although it is the same owner, just a lot
Breyer, he did not remember.
